Sprouse Twins and Sports Heroes Disney XD Weekend!!

SPORTS HEROES VISIT DISNEY XD

Twin brothers and pro basketball players Robin Lopez (Phoenix Suns) and Brook Lopez (New Jersey Nets) join the growing list of sports figures populating Disney XD, the multiplatform brand for kids age 6-14 that hyper-targets boys and their quest for discovery, accomplishment, sports themes, adventure and humor.

The 7-foot tall Lopez brothers join twin teen stars Dylan and Cole Sprouse (“The Suite Life on Deck” and “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody”) to host a weekend long programming event, “Biggest Fans Weekend,” beginning SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 19 (11:00 a.m., ET/PT) on Disney XD. The Sprouse twins, avid basketball fans, have followed the Lopez twins’ careers.

Among the other sports figures who have guest starred on Disney XD are legendary skateboarder Tony Hawk (“Zeke and Luther”) and NFL Hall of Famer Jerry Rice (“I’m In The Band”).

Other sports-themed Disney XD programming includes: “Next X,” a reality series for kids developed by Disney XD in association with ESPN (“Winter Next X” debuts Monday, January 31), and “SportsCenter High-5,” a daily short form series hosted by ESPN reporter Josh Elliott that celebrates the spirit of accomplishment through a compelling, fast-paced presentation of each week’s five most triumphant, awe-inspiring moments in sports entertainment.

Cody and Bailey Belong Together!!

One of Debby Ryan’s favorite episodes of The Suite Life on Deck airs tonight and she caught up with TVGuide to chat about filming, love triangles and the revealing of Mr. Tipton. Check out what the 17-year-old actress had to say:

On the return of Moose [played by Hutch Dano]: “I see the whole Moose-Bailey thing, I get that there aren’t many guys in that town — he’s probably the only one who still has all of his teeth — but ultimately I don’t think she needs to sacrifice her standards.”

On why she thinks Bailey belongs with Cody [Cole Sprouse]: “Bailey’s very intelligent and emotionally developed and I feel like she needs someone equally special, who’s willing to appreciate that, who wants to be loved and give love to her, and that’s very much Cody. It’s the whirlwind relationship [of Cody and Bailey]. For all of Season 3, ever since the breakup in Paris, it’s been miscommunication after miscommunication. They’re finally at this point of wanting to rectify things.”

On finding out Mr. Tipton was coming to the show: “When we realized they were actually going to reveal Mr. Tipton, we were very confused, like, so he has a face? We were nervous as to who would represent that character that was so long established. The second we heard it was John Michael Higgins, we were so excited.”

Check out a preview of Twister, Part I and catch the full episode TONIGHT @ 8PM ET/PT on Disney Channel.

Special 3-Parts Suite Life On Deck Begins Tonight!!

Disney Channel’s “The Suite Life on Deck” offers a triple play of new episodes this weekend that includes a visit from a trio of NBA stars and promises to reveal Mr. Tipton, father of the mostly clueless celebutant London Tipton.

Along the way, Bailey (Debby Ryan) makes a trip home for her Grandma’s 90th birthday party in an episode that allows the series to offer an homage to “The Wizard of Oz.”

The new eps air 8 p.m. Friday through Sunday. Here’s a capsule look:

Friday

“Twister: Part 1″ – London (Brenda Song) offers to take Bailey home for her grandma’s 90th birthday party, but when her blimp goes down, the girls must road-trip to Kettlecorn. Unsure why Bailey has left the boat, Cody (Cole Sprouse) mopes around before deciding to head to Kettlecorn to win her back.

Meanwhile, Zack (Dylan Sprouse) and Woody (Matthew Timmons) challenge Moseby (Phill Lewis) and his brother to a basketball game — only to discover Moseby’s brother is NBA star Dwight Howard, who is visiting the S.S. Tipton with his buddies Deron Williams and Kevin Love.

Saturday

“Twister: Part 2″ – When Cody arrives in Kettlecorn, he learns that he is not Bailey’s only ex-boyfriend who has come to win her back – Moose (Hutch Dano) is also there.

When a tornado approaches, everyone must pile together into the Pickett’s shelter. While in the shelter, Bailey gets knocked out and has a “Wizard of Oz”-type dream, and when she awakes, she finds that her family’s farm has been destroyed. Unable to afford school due to the tragedy, Bailey will not be returning to the S.S. Tipton.

Sunday

“Twister, Part 3″ – After three seasons, London Tipton’s tycoon father and owner of the Tipton hotel and S.S. Tipton, makes a un-obscured appearance when Cody begs him to help save Bailey’s family farm in Kettlecorn.

In his previous appearances, Mr. Tipton has been surrounded by bodyguards, his face hidden.

John Michael Higgins plays the never before seen Mr. Tipton.
